Red Ribbon Week will begin on Monday with “Hornets get “Red-y” to say, “NO TO DRUGS! All students are encouraged to wear red to celebrate the beginning of Red Ribbon Week. Students will receive a Red Ribbon bracelet to wear all week. Also, students will hear the story about why we have Red Ribbon Week during Monday’s announcements. Students will decorate doors 1st hour next Tuesday with a “Drug Free” theme. 1st hour classes can hang up paper on their doors before 1st hour next Tuesday. The actual decorating of the door needs to take place during 1st hour only. The winner will be rewarded with a breakfast prepared by 2 of your favorite people, Mrs. Cindy and myself! Second place will receive candy bars and 3rd place winners will receive suckers. Doors will be judged on the following criteria: Slogan, Creativity, and Neatness. Each area will be awarded a possible score of 1-5. Maximum score of 15 points will be awarded by each judge. Students are reminded that they must abide by the school dress code when participating in Red Ribbon Week. If a student’s attire causes a disruption to the educational process, they will be asked to change.
Our annual Barnwarming Dance will be Friday, November 2nd from 7:00 – 10:00 p.m. in the Ag Shop. FFA and FCCLA members who plan on attending should sign the list in the office by Monday, October 29th.
Seniors that have not turned in their Senior Recognition Ad form must do so before they leave today.
FCCLA Fall Leadership will be this weekend. Bus will leave Sunday morning at 8:00.
Vo Tech students can leave after 3rd hour.
Our Jr. High Boy’s Basketball Team (8th grade only) will play, here tonight, against Cooter at 6:00. The following jr. stand workers should be here by 5:15: Eli Morgan, McKenzie Copeland, and Jose Cruz.
The Hunter’s Education class scheduled here tonight has been cancelled due to very few who signed up online. There will be a class from 1-5 on Saturday at the Special School District in Hayti for those wanting to take the class.
A newly scheduled Jr. High Girls Basketball game will be next Tuesday at Qulin at 6 pm.
Lifetouch will be here next Wednesday to take pictures of newly enrolled students since September 19th and those who were absent on that day, including teachers. Seniors will also be getting their composite pictures taken on this day.
Our seniors will be going to the College Fair at SEMO on Monday. Bus will leave at 7:30. Cost of lunch is $6 and will need to be brought to the office before you leave today.
School will be dismissed at 12:15 today for Teacher Professional Development Meeting and will resume Monday, October 22nd at the regular time. Students who walk or drive can leave at the noon bell.
